"I'm writing a book..."

Meet the "Author", Mr Chee. This is his left hand and this is how he types...

Mr Chee was involved in an accident some 19 years ago whilst at work overseas and has since been paralyzed and bed ridden. 19 long years!, and this has taken its toll on his family. Unable to cope, they abandoned him. I was expecting to meet a bitter person.

Instead of bitterness, I was greeted with a warm smile as I entered his room. "Please come in, grab a chair and have a sit" - Mr Chee pointed to two plastic stools beside his bed as he welcomed us in. He had the warmest smile and a simple joy that appears on his face as he greeted us from his bed. My apprehension melted away in an instant!

When Mr See, my business associate in Viva said that he will be dropping by to visit Mr Chee after an appointment we had with a client earlier, he gave me a little background on Mr Chee. "He's paralyzed from a work related accident and has been bed ridden for the past 19 years!" Mr See explained. My mind raced to picture an old man all curled up, dirty and soiled...in bed...for 19 years! I couldn't imagine being in a room for 19 days, let alone 19 years! As I entered his room I was pleasantly surprised. His room was sparse but clean and tidy. It put me to shame!

We chit-chatted a bit and then Mr Chee put me in awe when he shared - "I'm writing a book!" And this is how he was doing it...

This Laptop was donated by a friend of Mr See

I was at once put to shame.  Me, with my 10 working fingers and I complain about having to type and write.

This is Mr Chee:

And this is Mr See:

Stay tuned for Mr Chee's "To Be published"  Book.
