Day 42

Today I have a few errants to run, and in KL half your time is spent in the car stuck in traffic! The VVP shake comes in handy here. Just add water and I'm good for another 6 hrs! After a hectic running around and preparing for my trip down south, we wanted something nice for dinner but super fast and easy to cook! So, we threw everything into a foil (fresh fish, sauce, carrots, radish, ginger, shallots, coriander, salt & pepper). Wrapped it up and cooked in a pressure cooker  together with the rice! Ya, All-in -One!

Day 41

I'm in Penang! Makan, makan, makan! Stayed the night at Berjaya Hotel and woke up at 8am. Since Breakfast was provided I had a full Breakfast this morning!

Nasi Lemak with Sunny-side egg!

Bread Pudding

Went for a lunch appointment with my college mate in UK. It was good catching up! Thereafter, I proceeded to Queensbay Mall and had coffee (with free donuts!) at J.Co Cafe.

Grace and Heng Loon joined me later...

Expresso! Kau Kau

 The Famous Donut

Jou gave me a Cempedak fruit from his farm and Grace and I was wondering how to wrap up the fruit so that the very strong aroma of the fruit will not escape and make everyone "Pengsan" in the coach! She did a fantastic job of double double wrapping the fruit and placing it in a box and sealing it again! A very talented packer! No one noticed anything throughout the whole journey! :-) Now my house is filled with the wonderful sweet aroma of the fruit! I think its ripe enough to be slaughtered!

Reached home about 8.30pm and dinner was waiting for me...

Spaghetti

Healthy Salad

A Positive note #41

"Go as far as you can see and when you get there, you will see further"

Day 40

Last night I had the biggest dinner in 40 days! We cooked 4 cups of rice and 5 of us finished everything!

So, today I fasted the whole day! It was easy because I was traveling. No hunger pangs, no discomfort etc But lots of water! I arrived in Penang at 6pm ( it helps with someone else driving! ). It was very kind of Grace to pick me up from the Sg Nibong Terminal. We went straight for dinner at the Northam Beach Cafe and had a simple but delicious meal...

Yong Tau Foo (share)

 Fried Tom Yum Noodles (Mine)

Fried Black Pepper Spaghetti (Grace)

We went directly to the Viva Ctr thereafter for a special talk by Dr Lynn ( not my Lynn! ) from Taiwan. Turn out was very good and the talk was very informative even though I understood only about 1/4 of what she said! ;-) Now, why didn't I pay attention during my mandarin classes in school! :-(

Day 39

I had an appointment in Rawang this morning and had Roti Canai & Teh Tarik (kurang, kurang manis! :-) at a Mamak stall with my prospect...

Roti with Curry, Dhal & Sambal - 90cents

It was CHEAP & NICE! Who says the two does not go together! The Roti was very fluffy and not oily at all. See, healthy too! :-)

We had guest today for dinner and we decided to have a "Cook & Eat" session. Yes, we make our guest participate...I mean 'work' for their food! ;-)

 1st you chop the onions...

 Then, more chopping...

We decided to cook our Super easy "Pressure cooked - Hainanese Chicken Rice". Not ANY Chicken Rice but HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE! All you need is a Hailam...Teng! :-D

1st you give the Chicken a Massage...

A very important step. You must STRESS the Chicken so as to give it pressure! The higher the stress, the higher the pressure, the better the chicken. ;-) That's why its called Pressure-Cooked! Next, you fry the rice grain with shallots, ginger & garlic until burnt...no la, just kidding...until fragrant. Then add chicken stock....

 Rice all ready to cook!

Place a stand in the pot...

Place the "Highly Stressed" Chicken in the Pot...

Cover the pot and put on medium flame until it sizzles, then low flame for 5mins...IT'S DONE! Next, prepare the Special Chilli/Ginger sauce. Just blend everything together! (Ginger, green chilli, shallots, garlic, salt, sugar, oil & Lime juice!)

 Blending the Sauce...

 Serve with 'Tender Loving Care'

 Yummy!

Hot & Steamy

Cheers! With BioFruity!
It was our guest's Birthday too!

Delicious Hazel Nut Cake for Desert

Day 38

I miss the "Homebaked" Bread! Some how they always run out when I want one! The people in my condo must be reading my Blog about the delicious "Homebaked" Bread! ;-)

Without the bread I decided to take the VVP Shake for breakfast. Later Lynn had a craving for her favourite "Pan Mee" from JoJo Cafe for lunch. I didn't feel like Pan Mee and suggested Fish Head Beehoon instead. She said "No la, we are having fish tonight", so off we went to JoJo's for lunch! They had a few varieties. I ordered Curry Mee and Lynn ordered Lat Chew Pan Mee.
